  • IHSM Presidential Nominee

    Noeleen Nelson
I am honored to have been nominated for the position as Vice President for the board. Since becoming a charter member of the Irish Heritage Society of Milford, I have had the opportunity to promote Irish culture through various roles that I have immersed myself in. I am one of the founders of The Tara Theatre Company and to date we have produced 12 Irish plays that provide our dedicated audiences with a glimpse of Irish humor, songs and drama.

I am a proud past president of Slainte which is our non-profit charitable organization which provides scholarships for students and donates to local charities. Our fundraisers have proved hugely beneficial for our recipients and also for our supporters who have enjoyed a wide variety of performances with several of the artists being of Irish descent.

As previously stated I feel humbled to have been selected as one of the nominees for the upcoming board. If elected, I will continue to work to the best of my ability to promote Irish culture and to assist the board to the best of my ability.

    Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat

  • IHSM Vice Presidential Nominees

    Patrice Dunn
I am honored to be nominated as Vice President! I have been active in the club since joining in 2015. I have volunteered on the committee that fundraises and purchases Christmas gifts for needy families as well as helping with the yearly Holiday Craft Fair. I have volunteered at the Irish festivals helping at the various committee tables, setting up, serving at the beer tent, checking IDs and for the past two years I have co-chaired the committee for the Food Trucks. I have served beer at the IHSM tent at the Oyster Festival. I am presently a bar manager and one of the regular bartenders.
For the past three years, I have purchased supplies for the bar and club. I volunteered on the parade and St Patrick’s Day committees, marched in the parade carrying a flag and arranged for the food trucks at the club. I have performed in seven plays with Tara Theater since 2015. I reignited the Garden Club and help the committee maintain the triangular plot in town along with the window boxes at the club. For two years before COVID I organized the off-site monthly Happy Hours. I served on the board for two years as Parliamentarian and headed a sub-committee that helped refine some of the by-laws. I am currently serving on Slainte. I was Volunteer of the Month for July 2019.
I am a retired Special Educator. My career spanned 40 years! I loved my job, the children and my colleagues. Although I highly recommend retirement, I do miss those “Ironman moments” I shared working with children with special needs and their families!
Again, I am honored to be nominated to serve on the board as Vice President. If elected, I will serve the IHSM community to the best of my ability.

  • IHSM Treasurer Nominee

    Scott Willey
I am honored to be nominated for the position of Treasurer for the 2023-2024 term.
I have been an IHSM member since 2014. While I always volunteer at the Irish Festival
and the Oyster Festival, and I have made many great friends in the IHSM, work demands had previously kept me from getting as involved as I would have liked. I have recently “semi-retired,” and I would like to invest some of my newly found free time in contributing to the IHSM. Given my background in accounting and finance, I believe that serving as Treasurer is where I can add the most value.
My qualifications for the position of Treasurer are:
 Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from UConn (Go Huskies!).
     Certified Public Accountant.
 Extensive experience as a Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Controller for
    several large corporations.
 Experience as Treasurer of non-profit organizations, including Milford
International Little League, Foran High Booster Club, and several local political
    campaigns.
I currently serve as coach of the Foran High School girls tennis team, and I also work
part-time as a consultant for several companies. I am a life-long Milford resident and have been married to my wife Cathleen (Murphy) for 38 years. We have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

  • IHSM Secretary Nominee (and current)

    Sheila Olcott

I am honored to be nominated for the position of Secretary for the 2023-2024 term.

I have been an IHSM member since November of 2015. Since then, I have served on the Executive Board and have volunteered for various committees:

Trustee of the Executive Board (2020-2023)
    Co-Chair of the Cultural Committee
    Bartender since 2019
Chairperson of the Man & Woman Dinner (2022 & 2023)
    Co-Chair of the Little Women’s Christmas (2022)
Volunteer of the Irish Festival and many more!

I am an Insurance Agent, employed by Gallagher Risk Management Insurance. I have 2 grown daughters and have resided in Milford since 1993.

I look forward to continuing my service on the Executive Board and promoting growth and Irish Culture in our wonderful club!

Hi my name is Dana Garrow and I am running for the position of Second Year Trustee. I have been a member of the club for 10 years. As many of you know I am one of the regular volunteer bartenders at the club. I have been active with the club for many years.
